As far as making it official with points rather then an exhibition event, it all depends on if we can have a boat count the entire year....not just every other race. this includes the race in march which will be back to back weekends with the SCSC.
From what I have been told, we (as circle jet guys) are welcome back anytime as long as we bring enough boats....along with the flags as well.
Of course, I am torn about the whole NJBA circle jet deal....
I love the idea of more races throughout the year across different associations, but as of right now, in the southern california area, we have a total of 11-12 circle jet race boats that are active. I really don't want to spread it too thin.....if we do, people will skip out on SCSC races because an NJBA race is more convenient to their location or schedule..or vise versa (not to mention break downs or broken budgets keeping people from making it to a race).......and that could mean we make or break an event...or even a class.....including the compjet class we all have been working so hard on building and bringing back. I say we give it another year with the SCSC to let the class grow some more (look how much it grew last year
) then next year we 'make it count' with the NJBA. This year we should do a couple of exhibition events like we did in october. This will give us some seat time without having to commit to an entire year.
