I just checked the satellite map of Fox's....theres a beach on the south side just like Road Runner....I've never noticed it before.

So lets meet up at Fox's Friday morning

I talked with Jake today about trailering up together. There should be 6-7 boats coming up from the southern camps on Sat morning. We should be there 11:00 or so Sat morning.

I'm coming in on Saturday morning. Since I'm a newb, where is everyone going to be hanging out at? Can you get gas on the water there? I'll be by myself, will I be able to tie up boat while I go park my truck? Sorry for the newb questions

Bring your best anchor, the current is a bitch. No gas on the water in BR that I am aware of. If you drive all the way up to the dam, I believe there is a place that used to have a gas dock. Not too far really but it has been several years since I have actually used it.

The ramp is small, get someone to help you. Parking is very close compared to most places.

So unfortunately we aren't going to make this one either. The little one is sick, and just doesn't look like she'll be up for a trip. I'll be calling to cancel our room here shortly, so if anyone still needs a room, there will be one open for Sat night. Maybe ill make one trip this year...

Horizonjet, there should be plenty of guys to help launch and retrieve.
No docks at the ramp we use, some guys anchor out there and some wait to launch
when everyone goes up river to hang out for the day. Like GlassCutter says, bring a
good anchor for the day use park area. It's right next to Big River Inn, just follow Rio Mesa Drive to the water.

There are a couple small sand bars on the way up river and a cove near the dam, passed the bridge on the
California side that everyone will be at after leaving from the day use park when the water is up.

I don't believe there is any fuel on the water, but not certain. We go into Parker to Terribles
to gas up for the day. They have 93, it's about a 10 - 15 minute drive from Big River Inn.
If you need more octane, I'm sure someone on the boards will know where to get it. Maybe Parker Oil ?
Don't forget to visit Catfish and Dumas Walkers for the evening SCJB shenanigans !

There is no gas on the water and there is no gas in big river. you have to go to parker.

Also, there is no ATM in big river to pull out cash to launch....so make sure ya have cash on ya

I made this mistake once and had to drive to parker to pull out cash so i could launch.

9:00 am sounds good to us. Does La Paz charge a launch fee or are you going to that
little ramp off Riverside ? Could do Bluewater but I'm a little skerd about gas to the dam in the Daytona.

Who else is in for this ? I know we haven't been on Parker Strip since about '93 or so !
For Sunday morning I think we're gonna drive over to Badenochs for biscuits & gravy.

Also heard rumors about Sundance being open, anybody know anything about that ?

This is going to be a great get together !!!

Can't wait for Thursday, should be rollin' in with Hallett Dave & Erika about 11:00 am.

Wish we could make the trip, but just not in the cards.

Sundance open date keeps getting pushed back. It was early May then its a week later every week. Heard they're having issues with their liquor license.

Honestly though, based on our trips from Mother's Day through last weekend, I don't see how they plan to meet an end of June open date; think it said June 20th on the sign. The docks are still thrashed, but they've had workers there every day, so who knows. Their website says coming June and they're hiring.
