Never been to Blythe with my jetboat. I would like to try and make this event. Is there a hotel near by that you guys would recommend?

The Hampton inn is the exit before. Nice newer hotel and just about 5 minutes down donlon rd to the cove resort where you can launch.

The Hampton inn is a great hotel. Has a big lot to park the boat and the cove is an nice launch site or a little down river is McIntyre. I’ll be staying at the Hampton inn

Being my first time below Bluewater, I am hoping to get some advice on stuff to avoid while navigating this section of river. Hopefully some experienced people of this area are going and can lend some advice. Parker seems good nearly all the time depth wise, while Laughlin is shallow all morning. Do we have a feeling when the river will be deep enough not to worry much? After 10am, or more like after 1pm? Where do you all launch from? Is Queshan Park ok?

Usually on a Saturday, by 8am we have no problems launching. If you plan on getting there on Friday though,  water is usually too low to launch until about 1 to 2pm. If you're launching from the Cove, the 10 Bridge and meet up spot are right there. If you have never been to Blythe, I recommend staying south of the 10, the waters are a little less crowded and definitely more navigatable. The sandbars for the most part are pretty easy to see.

Thanks for the info on the water.
Just curious, can anyone launch from the Cove even if not staying there with a launch fee or day use fee? I tried calling but there was no answer. Thanks!

Although the event is over, just a quick footnote on launching in Blythe while staying at a nearby hotel...Queshan Park (right near the freeway overpass) is fine for launching for this part of the river and was $12.00 for Park and Launch. (Bring a pen and correct change, as there is no attendant) Several Boaters had launched here, and it is the closest launch to the sandbar SoCalJetBoats was at. There are some weeds right as you enter the river, but not so bad that I could not come across in the Southwind. The nice part is that if you want to check the water level of the channel before paying and launching, you can...Just drive in, go over to the ramp, and a short walk lets you see what is what before you pay.
