Okay guys, I know a couple if you have fabbed your own rail kits and other pieces. Where are you guys getting your metal AND how much did you pay for it? Let's get a list going!

Bear Valley Steel sells 25ft sections of aluminum angle 2x2 at 3/8th inch 6061 for $157.

We're pretty lucky in the Inland Empire (Riverside, San Bernardino, Ontario), we have several metal supply places to compare pricing.

Two of my favorites

IMS, Riverside

Patton's Steel, San Bernardino

IMS has a better selection of remnants but Patton's seems to have better pricing on some items.

There is a place called Patton's in Hesperia aswell. They don't stock aluminum very often and usually only a 1/4". But they can order stuff for you.

I have a rail system set for a 454. No need for it I run a 455 olds. Needs a little cleaning.

$50 is the standard SCJB offer, we will always offer that even though we know it's worth more. Kinda of like an inside joke. That's why he said you must be new, because you took offense to it. Usually it's like $50 and some skittles etc....

I think the $50 offer joke is long overdue to be put to sleep. Its not welcoming to new people trying to list stuff for sale....I'd appreciate it if we dropped it.

B-Rad, while I agree with you for the most part, if someone posts something for sale and does not list an asking price, the low ball offer will be used and used correctly IMHO

Now if someone lists and asking price and it is much higher than the standard douche bag offer, then it would be considered poor form.

I could be wrong, but I feel that some stuff has been sold when offered the $50 low ball offer simply because it works like a bump or a TTT without being annoying.

We all know that that a rail system for any engine is worth more then 50.00. If your in the jet boat system you should know that. No matter if your new or old to the site low balls to that deal is not a remark to make a issue about. Being fair is what to look for.
