any ideas on a fuel tank?
« on: January 22, 2014, 07:34:00 PM »
I am curious on mounting my fuel tank in the front of the boat. It was there before i bought the boat but they removed it and now I have the round barrel type in front of my engine. I have bought a plastic tank that I want to put back in the front but not real sure on how to mount it. I was thinking just mixing up some fiberglass resin and basically "glueing"  down a strap that i can then use to strap around the tank after it drys .
What are your suggestions on the best way to do this?

i would make sure that the tank is put on a flat platform in the hull to which you will bolt/screw your strap mounts to.   you can buy gas tank straps to cinch down the tank.  if you cut like a 2x4 block, mixed up some resin, bedded it to the hull and then did a layer or two over that of mat fiberglass, then you could screw into that.
