Best wood for a boat?

What's the best plywood for the floor of a boat and why? I know what I think i'm going to use.

my personal opinion is to just use a regular 1/2 or 5/8" plywood.  the floor is kind of a "consumable" part that unfortunately gets damaged with use and wear and tear.  water WILL find its way in from bolt holes, etc and eventually will need to be replaced again.  a $100 sheet of thick marine ply isnt gonna make it any better...

ive done mine with ply wood twice now once when i first bought the boat and now im doin it again but its my fault this time i left the bow too low and left it uncovered in rain  :banghead: got careless now paying for it

I did my floor with regular ply and coat both sides with resin and any screw I put in I put silicone

I was told that doing this is a waist of time.I thought it was the way to go.but I was going to use a chop gun.

Just bought marine plywood. Three sheets of 1/2 inch and one sheet of 3/4... Cost $274
