First off let me say that this accident was totally preventable had I drained both my fuel tanks, or made sure my lines were fully plugged!! That being said I did neither and am learning as I go along when it comes to this. So my question is, I had a lets call it a significant fuel spill in my 73 Rogers Jet boat. I found that the spill actually made it into the void space in the center of the hull under the flooring in between the stringers. Since noticing I have drained the fuel from space. Was just curious how robust the fiberglass is or if I have or need to rip out that floor?? After the fuel is out and evaporated should I spray some soap and water up there to help flush it out??? Any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. I already know I’m an idiot so if you need to remind me to make yourself feel better then that’s ok.my skin is pretty thick so have at it. This also ruined my new carpet that I had installed, so round two, and try it again.
