Has anyone used a blasting service to strip paint off a boat?

I hate the flames on mine and want to paint or maybe gel it this winter.

Currently my boat has paint ontop of the Gel. I have no idea what the gel looks like, but the paint imo is hideous. Just not my style at all.

Instead of worrying about sanding off all of the paint with a DA, i was thinking about putting it on a dolly, stripping it down to nothing, and then having it blasted.

I called a couple of places and thye have both said no problem, they can strip the paint and stop before it gets into the original gel coat to badly.

Has anyone had this done? He quoted me somewhere between 900 and 1000 to strip the entire boat. Drop it off, pick it up later type deal.

Sure as hell beats the supplies/time/effort of doing it myself. I want all the paint off because it is chipped in many places, and id rather not fill the chips/do body work to make it look decent

Check with Brian(Lefty), he had a guy who does mobile dustless blasting do his trailer

Look into places that do Corvette restoration.  Typically they use a less aggressive media, such as walnut hulls, that's not so hard on the glass.
