Ok, so I am in the middle of replacing my transom and installing a Berkeley pump into my hull......my question is what glass and resin should I use to glass in the transom and what should I use to fill the hole where the pre existing intake for the pump was.  I have decided to stay away from epoxy resin just for cost.... I am just mostly interested in what weights of cloth/mat you recommend and  what would be the best process/material to seal that large hole from the intake so I have a fresh start for the new intake.

Thanks for the recommendation on the book! I ordered it from amazon!  I have looked at the west systems products and I know that they are good quality but the stuff is just expensive and fro the amount of work I have to do.....the cost of the epoxy resin would be more that the boat is worth!  I know that a good job can be done with a vinyl ester resin or polyester resin.....Im just curious as to which everyone prefers and cloth/mat weights.
