so.... there are a few boats listed for sale on message boards and on CL that claim to have new Gel coat...

and there are some listed for sale that say, they need a new gel coat.

so, I thought that the gel coat went on in the mold before the glass was set... how is a boat re-gel coated? and, whats a job like that cost? is it worth it? will it be as durable as the gel coat set in the mold.

i can do fiberglass repairs, but i try to keep it to areas that are "unseen", i wouldnt even try to pull off a complete job like that.

Gel jobs are expensive. There is a lot of time that has to be spent sanding the gel down to make it flat. It will always come out of the gun orange pealed. One color gel job I would think would start around 5 or 6 thousand on the low side.
