Basically its an additive to mix with gelcoat that alows it to be sprayed with a normal spraygun, either HVLP or a pressure pot, you can thin it with MEK to a desired consistancy, and it will flow out like enamel, pretty bitchen stuff. My buddy painted the floor in his flatbottom and it looks really cool...
These guys make the gelcoat they paint molds for building boats and crap with. Really tuff, abrasion resistant and tougher than gelcoat. Really badass stuff...I have to find the link to post, I just got home and saw this...I've painted a boat with Imron around 1995, it came out really cool, until we ran a lag bolt from a dock right down the side and had to fix it, the color didn't match for shit. Plus its like sanding diamonds.
