Home Depot normally sells Evercoat resin and mat/cloth in limited quantity, just be sure to check the date codes in case they don't rotate stock...

Why not? Evercoat sold at Home Depot is the same as Evercoat sold at your local paint store. The problem I have is the fiberglass is ridiculously expensive.
Small repair HD is convenient, but if you need decent quantities of material, it's probably cheaper to go to a specialty supplier. I have know idea if Utah has them, but I use S&W plastics. There's a few of them here in So Cal. They have resin, gel, glass, and tools pretty reasonably priced.

A great fiberglass job with strength, integrity or durability will not be from a paint store or home d.... If your doing a small patch job like filling a hole in a stringer, sure I guess but nothing other than that. When did owning a boat become a cheap inexpensive lifestyle? Pay a bit more on quality to get longevity.

Have to respectfully disagree with you here. Evercoat is great stuff. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Been using it for decades.
Any time I don't use West Systems, I use Evercoat.
Their fiberglass is about three times the cost of what I consider reasonable, by the resin is about right.

Epoxy resin is real good stuff, just not compatible with polyester resin, which is what most boats are made off. Plus I personally think it's overkill for most repair/ restore most of us do to our boats. And, epoxy is usually much more expensive than polyester resin. How much do you need? If your doing a relatively small job, most car paint supply stores sell it. If you need more than a gallon, then maybe buy from someone on line like....

You can use epoxy resins with polyester. Do it often.

what up GT? People think epoxy works with polyester due to it feels and looks like it bond but it doesn't and some say they been doing it for years don't mean it's right they both cure different and if get one part that comes loose you can pull off all the stuff you put over the polyester. My father has been building molds and race car bodies and putting recked up car back together for over 30 years! But everyone has different out looks on this subject good luck on project!!
