Because of where the damage is, what I'm about to suggest is going to be a pain in the ass... none the less, it should be done. You need to get inside the hull and make sure that the impact didn't stress the glass. Sometimes a small contact area on the outside ends up spider cracking the glass over a much larger area. If you just repair the small area and the cracks are there, they'll eventually spread through the gel in the entire area. The cracked glass is obviously weakened and should be repaired.
FWIW, I'd check with GS Marine in Corona. A family member tagged the corner of a dock with the back corner of the deck and actually punched a hole through. The complete color matched repair as well as a couple other nicks and scratches being repaired was around 3-400 about 4 years ago.
