I would like to move my steering over to the left about 4 inches. This would now place the drivers seat as far left as possible, giving me more room between my front seats. Does this seem like a major (expensive) project? What would a shop charge to do this, Including gel match? How cheesy would it look if i just cut it out and replaced it with an aluminum panel to fill it in?

I came across the same issue in my boat. I decided for cost , labor , and final product I was better off taking a scrap piece of aluminum (1.25$) I would cover my old steering wheel hole with the plate  on the plate I   mounted both bilge switches and my ignition key. Here's a pics of when I first started it. My buddys dad is engraving under each switch what they are. Then it's going to get a good polish
