Stringer rot

Have a little rot in one of my stringers. Original engine mounts holes were filled got some water in it. What is a good fix?

Git-Rot works OK if the damage is isolated.

I would rather see you hole saw out the damage on install a dowel or wood plug to fix it.

It's about 12 inches on the stringer

Honestly, to do it right, stringer time.

See if you can peel the glass off and really get an idea of scope.

I've heard you can section it something about cutting at a angle and use dowels? Hate to have to replace hole thing if there a different way

I would start to peel the fiberglass at the hole and work you're way out

I use a small ball peen hammer to try locate soft areas, it should sound like you're striking a marble counter top, not a wet cardboard box.

That damage is irreversible.

I think you'll find it easier to redo than to try and patch it. There will be dry rot everywhere there is a penetration.
