1971 Kona Makai
« on: September 13, 2010, 08:44:35 PM »
I have found limited info on a boat that I have just aquired. It is a 1971 Kona Makai looks to be about 18-20ft it is a bubble deck. It has a cowl over the engine that is two pieces and houses a 455 olds with a berkeley 12-jc pump with a place diverter. Is this hull worth putting an interior and paint in? (I will post pics later when my camera cooperates) all the wood and seat frames are good along with all the glass and the stringers, a real clean hull, just looks like the interior had a knife taken to it and the paint seems to have lost all the clear so you can barely see the old pattern. I am gonna play with it as is for now, until I can finish my Keaton project, but when that is complete I am wondering if this should be my next project, or sell it and find something else. Thanks for any input! ;D
