my first boat was a 1973 glencoe and then i gave it to my brother. The boat has 1/4 stringers and a deep "v" in the front and a bow tank. The boat ran really well in the chop and some bigger crap. The disadvantage is that they are slow because of the front "V". The boat came with an olds (455) and when we were done it had a BBC (454) with a jacuzzi pump and diverter. The boat was pretty heavy. If you are looking for a good river cruiser that would be good start. My brother (RedSnapperSlapper) has a 1976 Hallett bubble deck with a BBC and berkely pump with a diverter. Not playing salesman but, the hallett has full stringers, better pump than the jacuzzi and is a nice boat. I dont have pictures on my work computer but PM him and he can send you some

Here is a picture of the 73 Glencoe I had. The boat handled the chop really good it had the deeper V in in the front with a bow tank as well. the boat did about 60-65 and cut through just about everything. Then i wanted something full stringer and gunnel tanks and everybody says you cant go wrong with a Hallet so I bought the bubble deck. Like my bro said I dont want to be a salesman either but Im not sure what your price range is but the Hallet is for sale kind of.
