In the first pic, that doesn't look like registration or title, at least not Ca. or Az. It looks like that auction description, which has a bunch of mis information.

V.I.N. doesn't match.
Length, is it 17'? Looks like 18 or 19.
Horsepower, 120? Not even close.
Propulsion- propeller...looks like a pump to me.

Vins (Hins) were required in '72, but my 75 doesn't have one.

Between the vin and the cf or az numbers, you should be able to track down title and registration for it.

The registration probably looks different because I’m in oklahoma. Lol. And the copy of the title had the same info. The numbers being behind the plate was my first thought too! Gonna drill the rivets when I get off work today and see. If there are numbers under the plate, should I call the local PD and get them involved or get ahold of the auction? Something is definitely fishy. Thanks again for the help.

Well shit fellas, number behind the mental tag had been sanded off. Measured the boat and it’s an 18ft. Got ahold of the auction company and the boat is going back with a full refund. Not worth the hassle of trying to straighten out somebody’s cover up. 🤷‍♂️

Good choice. I almost lost a day cruiser with the same situation. Took a month of tracking the builders back from 1977. Luckily they were out of jail and there was a hin stamped underside the right side of the hull.
