History of the California Charger Boats???

Does anyone know any of the History of the California Charger Boats???
I have a 1976 or 1977 California Charger Jet boat. Was this Hull copied from some other?
The dash board is kinda weird as behind the steering wheel it is raised then just to the right it goes forward maybe 6 inches. I've not seen to many other boats like this. Is this a good boat? Mine seems to be in good condition. 460 Ford with Jacuzzi WJ pump.

I have one. Did an open bow conversion on it. Need a Jacuzzi yj energizer kit for it.
