I have a 16' avenger and I am gonna find out how fast it is this coming summer! I think i finally laid hands on a rotary Turbo out of a mazda! We will see what she will do!

I have been told and seen a couple videos that lead me to believe that I can SMOKE a well built big block with the Rotary! I have a guy here in Austin Texas who is gonna go through it and says that he can get 800 Horses before the juice! Thats all on pump gas and weighing next to nothing!

I would like to see how it works out. 

Since the rotary doesn't produce much torque but likes to spin, what would be the best impeller to run? 

Bobby Brown that owned/owns Cee Bee, is one of the pioneering guys in jet boats and high performance boats in general. His brother owned Powercat boats back in the 50's in Paramount. When the company moved to texas, Ray Ledger gave his brother, Bobby Brown (half brothers I guess?) a set of molds to stay here and go on his own. That was in the early 60's, maybe 62 or 3. With that mold he started Avenger boats. He knows his shit and his boats did compete and win races. The 16 you have is probably a splash of the old 16 tahiti though. Post up some pictures.

I'm sure you've all seen this video on youtube. A good running wankel set up right is gonna run circles around most other jet boats, big or small block. I don't know shit about rotary engines, but wish I did after seeing this clip. You have to watch it til the end to get the full effect of the acceleration this thing has. Amazing.

With rotarys there is a leading and a trailing plug and coil , if you don't do it right it will run backwards!

perhaps someone on here can remember where that clip of a rotory motor in a jet just flat left another jet boat....I'm looking for it but can't seem to find it....damn it's the shi#s getting old......

I dont think you are gonna turn that impeller 12k rpm let alone 5800 with a rotary, Unless you decide to run a Z impeller...Those motors work well in small cars and build power high in the RPM range. You wont make the power down low where it counts in a jet though IMO.

You obviously haven't watched either of the videos in those youtube links above. 

i need some in put on avenger hulls are they good ,are they a fast hull

My buddy own's A 20' Avenger out board ski boat it run's about 70 + great boat if you like out boards.

Durham and Barron did run Avengers. Also the drag Boat the Devil was an avenger.  Most Cee Bee / Avengers for the general public I think had more of a traditional deck with windshield etc. while the race boats had a racing / river type deck.
