Keel guards

What do you guys think of keel guards? Would they slow my boat down ?I am talking about the ones that are self adhesive. Any input would be help full..

if they slow your boat down , its because its slow to begin with

Once your on plane it shouldn't even be in the water TO slow you down...

They are ugly but i like em if you want to protect your shiznit

What are you trying to protect it from?
If it needs that much protection, you shouldnt be beaching it there anyways.
