As some of you know I lost my steering and ran hard aground, at speed. Today I'm trying to assess the damage, but don't see much more than scratches in the paint - I knew my hull was heavy but now I guess I know why. Other than my intake fins I don't see much else damaged. Speaking of these fins, how critical are they exactly? I've still got one on either side of the intake but have lost considerable material (maybe 40%) and have a rough and scalloped appearance. Do I have to replace the intake piece, or can I just either grind these down smooth and reshape them some, or build them up with epoxy and reshape them?
