Dyno mat engine cover?
« on: November 09, 2012, 07:27:17 PM »
Just kicking around an idea. Figure somebody here will have an answer. I'm wondering if I can dyno mat the inside of my dog house engine cover? Will it cause heating issues? Just wanted to make it a little quiter. Even though I'm thinking I'm doing a thru hull exhaust. Lol. Btw it's a 79 centurion I/O.

Try hoodliner from dyno...
http://www.dynamat.com/products_car_audio_hoodliner.html
Shop around you will find it cheaper. I have regular dynomat under the hood of my 56. My jet hatch went crazy...Had cheapo mat first and it started to fall off. So went carpet and diamond plate.

We install Dynomat on motorhome engine covers without any problems.  I don't see any reason you can't do it on yours.
