so we were floating down the river and hanging onto the side of my boat. when one of my friends foot hit something coming out of the bottem of my boat.... it was two screws from the interior shop sticking right out the bottom of my boat. I contacted them today and they were very sorry and said they would take care of it. where should i go for something like this and how much would it cost.

Wow what did they use 5 inch screws?

that happen to my buddy too.....But they screwed it to the trailer bunks

To top it off, it was a brand NEW boat 

When I bought my tahiti a couple of years ago it had new interior and the guy had the same story. He said when he got it back from the shop he went to launch the boat and it was screwed to the bunk rails with four ( two on each side ) 3 inch drywall screws and they fixed it and gave him half his money back!

My question is, shouldnt the upholstery shop take care of all the damages and arrangments to get it fixed?  Thats the way you made it sound in the first post anyway.

take it to the shop of YOUR choice and get an estimate.
dont let them decide who gets to do it. for all you know they will have some random julio do it.

You could do this but dont count on a full reimbursment, especially if they have someone at thier shop that does fiberglass work.  Think of it like if you were the business owner that one of your employees did this.  If they do fix thier own work, ask for a written warranty on the glass work that they perform.  Even if you were to go to small claims on this the judge would require you to let the business make things right before any monetary settlement or refund is paid or even thought about in court.  Give the business the benefit of the doubt.  If they were really that bad then I doubt they would still be in business.

that would be if they do glass work. he was asking what it would cost to have the work done.

even if they do glass work, would you want them doing it after seeing their level of attention to detail?

i am going to take some pics of the screws this weekend. the interior shop already said they dont do fiberglass work. their shop is in bakersfield and my boat is in blythe. not exactly down the street. so i am basicly stuck getting it done in blythe or doing it myself.

why pay someone else to do it?(Leadsled) When tony will do a better job, Being it's his own boat.....

So you like people that fuk up thing the first time to fix it the second or third or ect. 


 Our upholstey guy give us our money back to keep our business..But he said that he would do all the work on our boat no one else.

That sucks Tony!  I'm smutting the shop's name every chance I get around here, they fukked me on some seats as well, had to pay my old guy to redo them, and had to eat it as I couldn't make my customer pay for the seats twice. I'd say it's going to take 8 hours @ $85.00 per hour labor and $147.65 in materials, that ought to more than cover your time and headache. With this being found I think I'd be looking over everything they did with a fine tooth comb................
