Who to use in the OC or IE
« on: September 30, 2012, 08:57:12 PM »
Going to redo the interior of the boat this winter! Need a engine hatch built, adding a rear bench and 2 new buckets along with new sides and carpet! When I was at GS marine they have someone that does it and their work looked really nice. Who else can people recommend that does nice work? Here is my current setup.

The Eliminator factory has been really pushing their interior services recently as well.  I like West Coast's designs the best every time but I have heard they are usually a decent amount more expensive.

So I'd like to hear what colors you would use? Someone said to use a light gray rather then all white for the interior! Let me know your thoughts!

Use grey. All white would get dirty to fast.

All depends on preference and how much time u spend taking care of your interior also if the colors will work with your boat. I have white interior in my 99 looks brand new but I also wipe it down when I pull it out and also clean the interior before I put it away... Malco leather and vinyl cleaner is amazing

id suggest going to your upholsterer and looking thru their sample books.  you cant just say "go white"  theres 18301850318531 shades of white (and every other color), with different patterns, textures, materials, etc.

i went with a very white vinyl and grey tweed.  white white is HARD to keep clean and you have to be VERY careful with swimsuits and sunscreens.  the wife had a magazine with sunscreen'ed hands and it transfered the ink or dye or whatever to a spot and i had to scrub the crap out of it.  the tweed is nice, and durable.

So after talking with several different places IV decided to go with A-1 Marine Interiors in Anaheim. Raul was extremely nice and his work looks really good. His quote was much better then the other two guys, and I know that saying "You get what you pay for"' I guess all I can do is wait. Beaveretriever used him a while ago and he said he did a good job! Dropped the boat off today he's going to make new front wider buckets, new rear bench, new engine cover, new carpet, mounting the battery switch under the rear seat, installing new speakers, mounting a sub up under the front, making a new mount for the amp and making a glove box where someone put the radio in the dash by the gauges. We are going to just use the amp with a plug to use my iPod rather then another radio! I will post pictures of the progress!

Went by to get an update and found out the the floor needs to be replaced  :banghead:  it's not as expensive as I thought. We are also going to take out the stupid radio mount and he's going to build a box and glass it in then install a locking glove box cover for the phones and wallets. I can't stand the way someone put the radio there!

My radio is on passenger side also, wives make for poor disc jockeys.

Yes they are. He's replacing the entire floor and re glassing it all. There was another boat there that he had to do the same thing and it looked good.

Boat is all done, Raul at A-1 marine did a great job. I would highly recommend him to do any interior work! I also had him do a full detail and heavy wax on the boat. Let me know what you guys think!!
