how hard is it to switch a 12jc to a 12jg complete pumps? and is it worth it?

im almost positive that all the intakes are the same. The JG bowl is better than the JC bowl. You can just switch out the bowls and then redo the wear ring. If you change the whole pump then they should just slip in. The advantage of a spit bowl (JG) is the ability to adjust the nozzle with wedges.

and then you can run a droop scoop, arent jetavators cheaper and easier to come by on a 12jg?

Split bowl pumps are harder to come by and demand more money. But yes you can run a droop on a JG and not a JC. Place diverter does sell diverters that will fit a JC bowl. THey are the same as a JG minus the adapter from the bolt pattern to the diverter.

Do you need to run a droop? Sometimes a droop can have a negative affect on the boat. I will say that a diverter is a good addition to any boat. I do not run one on my Daytona, but that's because its set up to go straight and fast.

you should be able to just swap a jc bowl with a jg bowl withouut doing anything the wear ring is in the suction housing and if your boat is a spectra which i think it is it should have an aluminum impellor in it.i would just check to see if your shaft dosent have a grove worn in it where the bowl bearing that houses the oil or grease from the two plug fittings on the outside of the bowl and just measure the dept to make sure your your impellor wont rub on the new bowl you buy and that the seal / bear shaft is still good or you will be adding more gear oil every trip out jmo

the reason why i brought this up is cause i came across this cl ad and i was think about going to picking it up rebuild it and swapping it out.
