Gosh we got Je, Jg, Jc, etc pumps,, Is there anywhere you guys know of to get dimentions etc on any or all of Berks pumps?? for instance--- intake size , nozzle size,, impeller etc.. 
     I just bought a 74 Taylor SS boat. It has a JE pump and I know nothing other than that.  I have a 455 olds built already to go in it.. It is going to peak out at 5500 rmp with apppro. 400 Hp.  I think but i'm not sure that a JE pump will will work for that but I want to get the most bang for the buck so I'd Like to know what Impeller to run. Also,, the "a"cut and "b" cut thing confuse me because I've never dealt with that and will call myself ign. on that subject but I would love to know why what does what in the world of impellers etc..   
    One more thing,,, can i put a pd on a JE pump? Can I put a JG bowl on it to use a snoot??

The JE pump falls into the "split bowl" design of Berkeley pumps, meaning that the steering nozzle bolts to the bowl.  Allowing the use of droop snoots, place diverters, wedges without having to change the bowl.

The JE pump also falls into what is called an "insert pump" design, meaning it doesn't have a seperate intake mounted to the bottom of the boat.  It requires the intake shape and mount be molded in fiberglass when the hull is made.  This design does not allow the use of loaders and other flow increasing items.

Depending on what you future plans are for the boat, you should be good with the JE pump.

looks like a JF (insert) pump
A JC has a normal intake & non split bowl (got one)
Large hull- Run a "AA" impeller and spin it as fast as you can, high 50's low 60's are possible
My 21' runs 53-55 @ 4900

I have a Place Diverter on my JC pump, and its good for bow attitude, and jet ski repellent. also has a shoe, ride plate and sport loader.
I believe a split bowl can be added.
Try it the way it is, and improve/spend accordingly.
