machined my ride plate last weekend =will get intake back in next week i hope =any tips on setting intake back in =things i should watch out for etc etc etc

Get the boat level side to side and the keel level front to back.  Get yourself an angle finder( the one below will work or you can get something fancier).   If you have a large gap to fill I'd definetly use the leveling bolts, otherwise the intake may sag before the epoxy sets.  Mix up plenty of epoxy you don't want to run out in the middle.  If its a hot day WORK FAST! the epoxy will set up very quick.  Get the front of the intake in where you want it then crank the back up or down to set your degree.  It doesnt hurt to mock it up dry, this will get it real close and help aproximate the amount of epoxy you have to lay down.

I am wondering, unless you set the pump way back, what does a ride plate really do? 

It gets more of the boat out of the water, reduces drag, and gives more adjustability to the boat.

thanks josh=the initial start point was my main concern so the info you gave will be great= before i pulled the intake out i checked the degree it was set real close to 4= so  that is what i am going to set it at=thanks again= doug

Hey Greg over on performance boats,on the greg shoemaker section,at the bottom there is a thread on ride plates. Not positive if it's what your after, but it may help. I'd give you the link but I'm too frickin dumb.
