I apologize in advance ...
Im a total newbie to jet boats and pumps and will probably have more than my share of questions along the way.
I'm trying to put a pump together from parts.
Most of the parts i should probably throw in the scrap mans pile lol
Anyway, my first issue is the impeller is missing a blade or two.
I have another that looks really good , At least to a newbies eyes but is shaped a little different.
and the blades don't appear as long.
I am going to attempt to post a picture of them side by side.
Could someone tell me if it's ok to use it or should i buy a new one?
Depending on how much budget you have to play with, I would recommend buying an impeller and a matching wear ring.
It's my opinion that the impeller on the left versus the impeller in the right are VERY different, I totally agree with Mr. Brock that the left one looks like about a "C" cut and the right about an"A". The difference is crazy. If you know cars, it would be like going from a 3.55:1 to a 4.56:1 gear ratio in a car...
I have some impellers depending where you are that may work well for your application. Honestly, I would recommend spending a few hundred bucks and get a kit. If you don't have the cash to build it once, you really won't have the cash to build it twice... Do it right the first time and you won't have to touch it for several seasons....
JMHO.
Fill us in on what you have to work with such as hull type, engine displacement, estimated HP and what you plan on doing with the boat.... Maybe someone has some better junk than you do that can help you out...(Not being offensive, just one man's junk is an others treasure...LOL)
Good luck with the repair...
