Berkeley 12JG Maintenance

Hi all - First time on this forum, looks like lots of good stuff here!

I have a 1990 Caribbean 20' open bow, 454 BBC, and Berkeley 12GJ. Looking for what needs to be done regarding maintenance for the 12JG. The bowl has been changed over to a zerk fitting on one side, with a set screw on the other side. I was told this grease zerk fitting is to replace using oil for the bearings, which it now uses grease pumped in, is this correct? Inside the boat there is a zerk fitting on the body, which I also grease, what bearing is this greasing? The u-joints also require greasing from time to time, correct? What about the packing gland adjustment? Thanks!

Remove the set screw on the bowl before SLOWLY greasing, as it could push out the bowl seal.

The zirk on the pump is for the bearing, a few pump of grease is all it needs. Over greasing is not good either.

Drive lines usually have zirk fittings, although some don't.

Packing seal should drip once per minute or so, probably best adjusted at the lake/river. This is what cools the packing and shaft.

Service intervals are about 50 hours or yearly/seasonally.

Check the loader or rock grate too.
Check the steering and diverter pins too, as well as the steering and diverter linkage.
