I have a 12jb and I'm good with it. Some modifications and I run 85mph. Ok a crap load of modifications  :screwy:

Split bowls always give you more options. I think what you have is better than the jc if it's what I'm thinking of. I've only owned jg and jb pumps.

The b is in reference to the split bowl. The c isnt a split but vanes go out farther for better flow. I have a modified c thats split now.

if you have a c bowl , then you cant add a droop to it unless you have it modified or do it yourself. been told not worth it.

not sure on that one. i have not spent enough time reading on jets yet to fully get the whole thing down. bought a teaching shop manual, but have not had time to read thur it.  i do beleave that you can put a diff bowl on your jet from an american turbine , but dont quote on it. why do you want a droop ?  and do you have a place diverter?

Just my 2 cents.... It probibly wont be worth it and it aint cheap either.  I would just fo the place diverter and learn that for a while then get a differant jet boat with a split bowl pump already in it.  Just like I looked for one with just a berk pump and 454 cheby, just what I pre fur (hehe) and held out til I found one I liked.

You need to post some pics of the pump and the tag if it still has one.  That way we can at least tell you what you have and what you should do next.

Who told you it was a 12jb?

IMHO unless you building a 500 +hp motor the droop will be unnecessary. I would try the Diverter and see what she does, that's a nice little boat.

Put it together then see what she needs. There is nothing at all wrong with the JB pump suction BTW, it was the predecessor of the JC and JG pump. They are actually a bit thicker in the construction in the area of the packing, otherwise identical.

If you are going to build 500+HP, lose the three point mounts, they are not strong enough IMHO to be safe. Go four point or buy a rail kit. Several times stronger.
