Berkeley Model 6JD-16
« on: December 05, 2008, 09:44:50 PM »
Does anyone know anything about the Berkeley 6JD-16? parts availability, how much HP will it handle? are they any good? I'm thinking 11 to12 foot flatbottom with a mild 2.8 gm 60 degree V6 and this pump. Will it work or not?

Trent those little jets were for use with very small HP , I had one in an 8" "boat" that had a Kohler Snow mobile motor and 50 ft "remote control cables (scary)  (designed to pull a skier of all things) :screwy: I belive you'd seriously "over HP the little  jet"  maybe a little Honda twin air cooled ? Tom

BTW you guys want to see some Scary check this out from PB

I would assume that if go outside it's recomended HP range it could get ugly . what about replacement parts . How readily available are those . I would rather stick a Sea-Doo/Sea Doo boats pump . You know those could take it . Flat bottom jet isnt going to go very fast anyways so you might just wreck the pump going sloooow .

Ive seen jetski transplants and they are  not very impressive. I have all the hardware for this (disaster?)to go V-Drive or Jet. I like the Idea of reverse as it's for my two boy's and the V-Drive is an old Hallcraft straight thru and there is not enough room for a transmission
