Berkeley question
« on: June 16, 2016, 10:44:54 AM »
I know nothing about jets. We bought a 76 Hallett 19 ft that came with a berkeley intake installed. The gentleman who sold us the boat included the grate, shoe, ride plate, and cradle. He said it's set up for a JG split bowl. He said everything will bolt up. Do I have any other options? I want it to go as easy as possible. If JG is easiest, then we will stick to it. But If I can bolt on another berkeley jet just the same, and use the ride plate and cradle, then I'd like to know which one. Thank you.

The jc pump is probably one that you might find cheaper. It's the same suction housing as the jg but came with a non split bowl. The jc bowl requires a different cradle. Most here would recommend that you find a jg pump (for the split bowl) so you have more tuning options down the road.

Let me know what you need.  I probably have everything sitting on a shelf. The cradle probably goes directly to the flange mount for the nozzle adapter,  that doesn't mean it has to though.

I have ride plate, cradle, and shims for the JG. My question is; can I use a different model or do I need to stick with JG to use those parts?

Well,  you don't "have" to use a JG,  you could go Aggressor,  Dominator,  Legend,  all split bowls,  not sure how else to answer the question,  the suction housings are interchangeable as far as a JB, JC and JG..

The bowls are the same,  the peripherals are all different though.

Can the ride plate and cradle be used on other models without any further mods? The man told me this was all "bolt on" for a JG.
