Difference in nozzle housing?
« on: May 03, 2016, 09:11:41 PM »
Noticed that my nozzle was leaking quite a bit of water, so I replaced the o ring on the nozzle and the bushings on the steering pins. Still leaks almost all the way around the steering nozzle. The bushings were way overdue to be changed and actually wore enough to let the steering nozzle rub the inside of the nozzle housing. So my question is, I found another nozzle housing but it has a different number then what I have now. I have a berkley G with a place diverter, number on my nozzle housing now is L5026, the other one I found is a L2727. Will it work? What's the difference? Thanx

You know the answer Daniel.

Those numbers are casting numbers FYI.

Could be one of several revisions each way.

Do you have a picture of what's going on?

Don't have a picture no, can get a few pictures in a few days when I get home. Stood up and looked over the back last time boat was out, water was pouring out about half way around the bottom of where the nozzle comes out of the housing, as well as coming out around the top steering pin and spraying straight up

Does the nozzle move up and down, side to side when you grab it?  Or is it fairly snug.

It sounds to me like the bowl to nozzle adapter is worn out.

May need to be repaired or replaced.

Boy, did I misread what your original part said. Lol

If it will bolt up, it should work. They're essentially the same part.

Adapter is worn.

Swap it and it should be much better,  use new nyliners also.
