Has anyone here had any experience with the energizer kit? Good or bad. I have a wj kit and thinking about switching it over to berkeley parts, but its pretty pricey compared to just rebuilding the jacuzzi. I'm not planing on trying to get into the 70's or anything, I have a placediverter on the jacuzzi right now. Any input is appreciated thanks

I believe crewchief has an energized wj in his Hondo. I'm sure he will chime in soon

no not worth it, i did it once and never again.... a well built wj can be just as efficient as a berk... the only thing you gain is the ability to add a droop.. there are wedges for the wj pump if you want more roost.....
why do you want the kit?

I don't have any experience with the energizer kit. My Hondo has a stock WJ with a diverter and some mild intake work.
I'm keeping my eyes open for a good deal on a diverter for a Berk so I can try a droop using one of the adapter rings to convert from the WJ outlet bolt pattern to the Berk outlet.
I don't feel that there is enough to gain on the WJ with the energizer kit. Now the YJ is another story.

I replaced the entire YJ Golden Eagle pump in my Charger with one with an Energizer kit and a place diverter last spring. On THAT pump, I can say it was a huge difference and well worth it. I don't see the boat much these days, my buds always have it out, but we ARE planning to bring it for the "Father's Day No Skirts" gathering in June at Big River. Mostly, because it's ugly, can't hurt it, and we've added a new droop and wedge to it so we can offer some complimentary bridge washings with a 455 Olds.............
As far as the WJ, had a few apart here recently, and in all honesty, very much resemble a Berk inside. Different Impeller codes, a B is a A, and so on, but can be made as they are to run HARD! Crewcheif's boat is a good example! (Did you ever put that new intake on Keith??)
Unless you're splitting hairs, racing, need aftermarket parts, etc, I don't see the benefit justifying the expense, myself. I think well before I would go that expensive route, I would re-rig the boat with a Berk which would probably be the same cost or less.............. O0

I didn't use the intake I got from you because my intake was for a flat keel due to the delta pad design of the hull and the intake I got from you was for a rounded keel. If you need it let me know and I'll get it back to you.

YJ Energizer and Xcelerator kits provide enormous advantages over stock performance particularly when addding power above 350HP , WJ Jacuzzis work very well in stock and slightly modified forms , One big advantage to either is when the repairs/parts needed begin to approximate the price of the conversion kits or in the case of the WJ the only OE impeller available is aluminum (no stainless or bronze) and they (OEM impellers) now retail for $585 as well as the fact that they are produced in very limited quantities Tom

My impeller is fine so I think I'll just go with the rebuild if theres not that much improvement with the energizer.

Tom twice today ive read "xcelerator kit" whats the difference between that and the energizer kit?

When I freshened my WJ pump, it made a huge difference...dropped 600 rpm, way better hole shot, and noticable fuel savings. MPD detailed the SS "B" impeller (pulled like a "AA" berk), shimmed the front bearing to .020" +/-, (impeller to wear ring), new wear ring and smoothed transition from intake to pump housing. Final results, 71.8 gps @ 52-5300 rpm on a heavy azz 19' Glen Coe. No shoe/rideplate/loader, just a place diverter. I'll keep my Jacuzzi all Jacuzzi. :thumbup:

The Xcelerator kit is the new one avilable from Aggressor. Same thing, designed by the same guys, new manufacture! ;)

I don't need it or want it. Pop it up now and again and donate it. Someone will need it eventually. I'm left to assume you got your's fixed and the Driver is now happy? No more squirrely rear feeling??

Talk to Tom at JBP for the facts. I was going to do it to my boat but the advantages do not out weigh the cost. I nicely built panther will hold some pretty good hp numbers. I was shooting for 600 with my old panther. it ran like a champ the only downside was no diverter. but that energizer kit is expensive and you will most likely be better off to just swap to a berk so that you can get replacement parts and all the add on goodies.
but I did like that panther pump. and my mini day would run faster than a lot of same size boats out there with berks. just ask jimmy or brandon from our mini day drag race at mead a few years back. lol..
man that was fun.

I love the panther pump.. Don't get why people dis on them¿!¿ I've mostly owned berks.. And have had some bad luck with them.. And they are fun seeing how high you can make your tail.. And scaring the kids on the tube.. Lmao!!
