Finally Got New Jet Boat

Well guys after shopping around i finally jumped the gun and went big with this motor lol may be a lil too much for me right now but we will see once i get her on the water...
1974 Fantasy the castings say a 454 big block chevy but the dude i bought it from has all the paperwork that have it made up to a 502 BBC N a 871 BDS blower, 750 demon carb... Says its a lil over 650hp n its pretty fast on the water.. Cant wait to gps it.. Ima try n make it out to this months trip on the 23rd to hopefully meet some of you guys...

BTW does anyone know where i can get a cover for the belts? @least the lower half? I dont want anythin sliding back n hitting that... AND I would like to relocate the pedal a lil closer to me ive heard of peeps drillin all the way through the hull... Any recomendations?

Just use the same length of screws and don't run your pilot all the way through your boat.

i too have been looking for a lower crank pulley guard to keep toes and sliding ice chests out of the motor. so far i havent really found anything and im starting to think that ill just have to make something. theres plenty of upper blower guards.

You won't drill through the bottom of the boat. There is a floor in the boat. Your still like 6" off the bottom I the boat in the middle of the floor.

if its a new boat and you didnt get the opportunity to test drive it in the water id give it a shakedown run first before you go out with the crowd. this way if there is anything wrong you can address it now and have FUN on the trip later in march. hell take it to perris or elsinore and run it on the trailer and make sure theres no leaks, etc. plus with any vehicle it wouldnt hurt to change oil, filter, etc just for peace of mind.

Took her out for a test run today @Elsinore.. Made a quick stop @Shoemakers shop had him double check everything before droppin her in the water... Runs great! And hauls ass! Dunno how accurate the speedometer app on my iphone is but it hit 78 aftr holdin down full throttle for a bit. Feels like i can get more outta it probably with a place diverter... But not in a super rush for it... Overall im very happy with it!

Very cool you could get more out of by putting dual 750's on it also. One is not enough for a forced induction motor. Also I really like the boats tow rig

Didnt even think bout adding another carb i was too excited about it running good lol but good point! And thanks for the comment, the boat only makes my tow rig look nicer lol

Shit is tight ill prolly enjoy it this summer as is and do some work during next winter.. Find me all day this weekend on the river close to lazy harrys
