Gate Cable Bending ......
« on: April 01, 2011, 09:23:14 PM »
I just had my JE rebuilt and added a manual place diverter . The cable that opens gate  bends when i turn the jet . It make steering or operating the place diverter a little more tough . Anyone have this problem or is this normal ????Thanks

Did you use the new Reverse cable bracket? This is a pic of the original bracket on a JE, I'll try and get a pic of the Place bracket that came with my diverter kit when I did it..........

Also took some adjusting, as it does on any PD install to get everything smooth. JE's are a little different in what and how to adjust, but certainly shouldn't change how everything worked before...... :screwy:

Looks like everythings installed correctly. Double check where the reverse bucket cable goes through the transom. Inside the boat, behind the motorm that cable needs to be fairly straight and have room to "float" in and out about a foot length of cable. it's probably just routed wrong and hitting something or run inside then striaght up or something. Snap a pic from inside the boat..... ;)
