help with rideplate

A couple of weeks ago I swapped from a jet-o-vator and G bowl to a Place Diverter and C bowl. I had to take the rideplate off, as I no longer had an attachment point at the end. The boat went 5 mph slower :thumbdown:. I want to make a new rideplate, but I have a few questions. I'm going to need to make a cradle for the bowl but I'm not sure exactly where it's supposed to sit and how it attaches. My intake was milled and drilled by a previous owner. My old rideplate is a one piece plate/shoe thing. It's .250" thick and attaches with six .3125". Any thoughts on this?

En Do you still have your g bowl? Why dont you put your g bowl back on and then install the place diverter on it? Whala problem solved

Nordie, I was thinking that at some point I would possibly put a stuffer in the g bowl. So I just put the c on for now.

Mash on it, are those eyelets threaded into the bowl? If so, what size are they, and how deep do they go?

Chirs-
I was told thet were threaded into the bowl, poss 3/4" thick? (wild ass guess) I thought they were cast into the bowl, havent tried to remove them...
Greg at G.S. Marine did this in 1996? so I was told, also has shoe and sport loader, "AA" impeller

if that is orange high temp rtv on your transom adaptr i would replace that with 3m marine 4200

HTP sells a cradle specifically for the C bowls.

No, it was just spray bombed red over silicone by the previous owner.

Ya we're looking at the way the turnbuckles mount to the bowl

I was told GS Marine did the rideplate and the shoe, hence the conundrum of the turnbucle mounting points, are they a "screw in deally" or "tigged on", IDK?

i would say tigged, after seeing the pic of dozzrs bowl they arent that thick

After seeing the same pics of Dozzr's bowl, I think I'd opt for Duane's brace/mount that Skip posted before I'd even tig on the thing.......... :sly:

It was a little unnerving tapping my brand new bowl. Then the next season I went with a 24" ride plate....the guy that made the ride plate...I told him what angle my plate was gonna be set...and the angle on the intake/jet  and he custom made me a pump brace. So then I had to tap another set of holes.lol Fwiw I was told on pb that the pump brace(under pump style) was a better stronger alternative to the turnbuckle option.
