My shaft has some play in it. Will it last a season? Or at least one trip? It is not front t back end play. When I grab the shafts through the hand hole, I can move it up and down. The front doesn't move. The play is only in the rear. It is not excessive to me but I can definitely move it. It's enough that I can hear a very slight clunk. I greased it last season and ran it only 2 weekends. I plan on taking a trip this weekend. Will it at least make one trip? A season maybe? Thanks guys....
Oh yeah... 21 foot 70s Caribbean mini day cruiser. 454 mild: 049 heads, air gap, exhaust manifolds. It's a cruiser. Not trying to race. But 6 people in it.

I once tried to NOT have a good time. It just didn't work out!

Any damage is already done.

I don't see that one more trip is going to hurt it. As long as the thrust bearing is tight and not growling I say run the fugger.

That being said, if it starts getting gnarly sounding, shut it down to protect the engine.

Ok. That's good reassurance. I didn't hear any noise last time out. Is the issue a  worn rear bushing?

More than likely yes. They don't really fit all that tight to begin with, so you may be fine.

Go have some fun.
