this is a panther jet.  the part on the right mounts up into a box in the transom.  the part on the left mounts onto the first part.

theres 5 bolts that hold the pump to the transom.  4 in the front and one on the top.  then theres a rock grate in front of the pump, thats held in place with the 2 lower bolts.

i wanted mine to look cool so i got ahold of "cas" who is one of the VERY few who know anything about panther pumps anymore.  he had a leftover pump brace that he sent to me.

now the engine can be mounted 2 ways.  one is a bellhousing that sits on the round part of the pump housing where the shaft is... theres a clamp that bolts underneath to hold it onto the pump, this is called a "3 point mount", 2 in the front, one in the rear...

ORRRR the engine can have a bellhousing that mounts to the stringers to hold it in place.  this is typically called a "4 point mount", attached to the stringers at the 2 front and 2 rear.

IMO the 4 points are worthwhile because if you EVER need to run your motor out of the water the 3 points are SUUUCH a pain to disconnect the driveline.  I'm converting to a 4 point mount myself.

help this helps.
