Can anyone tell me what kind of loader this is

I am still learning about this boat. looking into the pump theres a three bladed inducer. Is this for quicker ETs. I am trying to find out what the boat was built for. i dont see an inducer, all i see is the impeller. as for the loader you will need to take it out or get a better pic

Yes it is a ss, thats a descent loader too, normally guys will work the hell out of those loaders shaping them and such, there's some good stuff in there....make sure that loader is through bolted through the intake (nuts on the topside) they tend to work loose, they are only threaded into cast aluminum...Just my opinion.

I have not had the boat that long and I am trying to find out all I can from it. The last owner knew nothing about it he could not even tell me if it had an electic fuel pump on it..He did say the guy he got it from said the motor was a 496ci bbc. I am learning as I go.

Hey GT It looks like they had 4 screws holding the loader on. one was about ready to fall out. Is there a way I can get to the nuts on the top side.

Seriously if the engine is mounted rearward its a bitch, I have a heavily modified box wrench for this.

If I'm not mistaken, that loader was made by GTH in Pacheco, Ca.(NorCal-SF East Bay) back in the 80's(?). GTH was a long time advertiser in Hot Boat. He was a former Berkeley employee who made a number of specialised castings for use in Berkeley pumps. Being I lived 5 minutes away, I was sorry to see him close up shop a couple years ago.

Hey Oldsquirt, I was thinking the same thing but GTH was pretty proud of their stuff (they labled everything) and I did not see any evidence, the pump in my little boat is 90% GTH, had the loader but it didn't work on my boat, nice stuff actually.

I've got their shaft, impeller (ss A), stuffer, hand hole cover, and gland press, all of says GTH, this loader is very similar, but not sure.

Tommy just put one in the little Sanger (if memory serves) and it looks close.

Let's get some more info and pictures of the boat!!! If you post pictures, these guys can, usually, tell you anything you want to know about it. Sounds to me (based on what you have shown) like you got a pretty good boat, regarding the Chevy 496 and the Berkeley pump with a stainless impeller. What kind of hull is it? Have you had the boat in the water, yet? If so, how does it run?

Just keep reading and asking questions, and these guys will get you straightened out. That's how I've learned.

BTW, Tom at JBP is, by far, one of the best people to deal with, in the industry. Very knowledgeable and always willing to help whenever he can.

This is what that GTH cast loader looks like (this ones being modified), Jurys still out I think I'm going to switch ours out this week due to "percieved" handling problems on the Sanger ...

Re Bolts ANY loader should be overdrilled and thru bolted period ! ALL loaders need to be checked and trimmed/tuned to the boat! this is critical folks. We regularly see Loaders with blades hanging down well below keel ,especially the socalled "river racer" type

a mis-adjusted loader can/will hurt your performance and can cause Mad handling and dangerous problems

We use sell Black oxide 5/16 NC and nylocks ,occasionally Stainless

video is worth more then picture. I have not had jetboats before so I dont know how they handle. Heres 3 short videos that my brother took.

Bring the roost down a bit . It looks a bit high and usually bringin it down will cure your porpoising problem . Not too much of course .

Could the porpoising be due to the loader, like in Tom's case, instead of the diverter being up? Because in one of the videos, it looked like it did it even when the diverter was down a little more.

Thanks Guys. So whats the best way to trim and tune the loader?? I dont want to destroy it. And Brad I need to get a Gland seal and the tool to remove it I read you have the good ones in stock? Berk 12jc-a pump. Would a Droop help? The boat has a bow mounted fuel tank and not the two side tanks. Thanks I am learning !

Update. I bought a stock rock grate. The other loader was a GTH toploader. My question is How long of allan head bolts do I need.

The stock bolts were 1/4-20 x 3/4" long flat head.

If the loader was through bolted, you will have to figure out length by the amount of room you have under engine.
