Leaking grease

Had the boat out at the avi this past weekend on my second trip on this thing since I bought it blown I noticed grease everywhere and on my test run I never saw this anywhere , which seal is shot?  And what kind of pita is it to repair and replace?  Also anyone know where I can have the u joints rebuilt around oc,I noticed slight play .

Sorry but the pump has to come completely apart and the motor needs to come out to do that. That's the inner seal on the back side of the thrust bearing... If it was the outer seal it'd be a piece of cake.

Actually I guess you could just pull the suction housing and do it on the bench, then you wouldn't need to pull the motor.

Like JBASHAM  says,  that's an off season repair.

The pump shaft needs to come out.

If I were you, I would clean it up and run it for the rest of the season and do it when the weather sucks butt.

If you do this, do the whole kit and kabootle.

Bearings, seals,  packing,  wear ring etc.....

Your going to have it pulled all the way down anyways, this makes it a no brainer.
