O.K. so the new motor is running really good got all the bugs worked out and went out yesterday to make a few carb adjustments low and behold im idling in the no wake zone to the dock and I suck a peice of stick up the intake and pick up a bad vibration and the boat dont want to go........so I get her home and commence to tear the back half of the pump apart being convinced by other people who are on the dock that I blew up the impeller due to horsepower....I dont have a clue but I am a mechanic and machinist....now comes the part where I ask all you guys stuff again this impeller has big gouges in it I have to build a socket to get the impeller off...........then ill build a puller to get this junk impeller off ...what do I look for clearances and where do I check them with the back of the bowl off I have about thirty thou up and down and no endplay in the shaft I want to go with a different impeller and Im thinking I want to change the loader grate also.......................and you guys that contacted me before ,Ralph,Rod ,Tim,Tom ill be in touch soon I want to build a nice piece out of this so............Im gathering info the impeller looks to be 9 1/4 inches not sure till I get it apart the rest of the way

Internal pump work is way over my head at this point in time.

This nut is regular threads is it not............righty tighty.....lefty loosey???someone has just destroyed the nut on here now and im just checking before I get the grinder and chisel out

 Get a cheapo socket at NAPA (13 bucks) and cut it apart then square it up on the lathe and then weld a section in. I also made a puller.
