Log plumbing question
« on: June 21, 2012, 05:33:14 PM »
Hey guys. New to this forum but Jet Boating my whole life. I have a 1972 Cobra Jet w/BBC and TT Nicson Logs and Snails. I am replumbing all the water lines and noticed that the original setup had the lines of the T from the pump to the Logs goes into the top and out of the bottom. Is that right? It seems to me that it should enter at the lower fitting and then come out the top and then to the motor so that the logs are always full of water. This boat has been in the family since it was new and has always been plumbed that way. I seem to remember the logs getting hot as hell though. Thanks for your help.

you are correct, in the bottom, out the top.  otherwise you'll just skim the bottom of the ports and the top will be blazing hot.

Logs dont matter...water in water out.  Have seen cheapo ones with top rear of log in to front lower out. Mine have both front in/out side by side. Your snail is the last water before out your tips...
