Have a new/used boat, 21' ultra lx, 502, dominator jet, just purchased.

Took it out for first time today, getting a lot of water in bilge, I can see water running down from top of pump inside bilge, not gushing but a pretty good trickle.  The previous owner had ran a new bead of silicon around the entire outside of the pump, clearly he had this problem before.  I included picture but you probably can't see trickle.

Do I need to have someone (or myself) pull the pump completely to seal it properly or is there an easier way to take care of this, apparently a bead of silicon isn't taking care of it.  Any idea what the cost would be for someone to do this? 

Any ideas or recommendations would be great.

Boat is currently in bullhead, any recommendations for service in bullhead or Mohave valley would be welcomed as well.

Just the transom cover, correct?

Haven't done that before, how difficult is it?  Any secrets to know or watch out for?

A little gasoline will quickly break down the silicone and make it much easier to scrape.  I've had good luck using a retractable razor knife to trim the bead between the bowl and cover.

Be sure to use some good marine grade sealant too. I'm sure you will but just saying. I had the same issue. I'm good now. Now it's the intake leaking at the hull. But not to bad. That's going to be a project when the pump gets rebuilt this winter.

Yea mines leaking at the intake too. As soon as I get some money to fix my pump I'll get that intake fixed
