re pulling the impeller ,avoid applying heat at all costs ,once you remove the nut , a good jaw puller should do the trick , if you need to "borrow" or buy the "capture" type puller we use we can make arrangments to loan you one or sell it to you . Tom, what's involved in changing the impeller?   Will I have to replace the wear ring to fit it properly or is it just a change out?

I'm not to worried about having enough tools to do the job.   What I AM worried about is having
to little knowledge to keep from screwing something up 

What brand impeller would you recommend and what would the price be delivered to 16652 central PA?

I'm also interested in a place diverter for the 12JE.   How do you control them?  Where does the control wind up on the interior?   Floor, by the throttle on the side or what?  I don't have a foot throttle.

All I can say is thank god for this forum!   A little knowledge is dangerous, but with your help things don't seem such a big deal anymore.

go with the manuel place diverter mount handle on floor with the manual you always know where the jet is

if its never been apart in 31 years i would say rebuild time you dont have to pull the pump to put the diverter on i dont have a photo but check placediverteron google youl easily find one jim brock has new or used give him a call 818-890-1867 hell help with any or all of the above hes awesome

Electro sorry been really busy just caught this .. Impeller change is a very simple op , may or may not need to swap ou the WR (thats easy too)  We only sell A/T Dom/Legend Impellers price is in a PM as far as the work goes Josh or I will "walk you thru any of this you feel confortable with Re the Place Diverter IMO no Jet (with the exception of some race boats ) should be without "trim" ,best bang for your buck ,never had a performance complaint in thousands of sales. re Floor vs Hyd the percentage runs about 60/40 (more mans) shift and throttle control type doesnt Matter I personally like the manuals for lake boats (faster reacting) Heres a Floor  control install (Josh's is polished and NOT typical) but the only one I could find this AM Floor controls are easy to shift on the fly the do cause a few stubbed toes ,hydraulics control with a toggle or steering wheel mount switch etc Hope this helps Tom

Thank you for all the input.  I'm on two weeks vacation starting yesterday so there will be no taking the boat down now.   You guys don't disapear around the end of September do you?

I'll probably do the changes then.   I don't want to risk down time in the season.

I will be doing the place diverter and pulling the impeller for inspection.  If it just has a few nicks
are you guys saying just trim it up a bit?
