I was just wondering if anyone on here has done any grinding on their PD to get a few extra degrees on the up for a taller rooster. The cheap way instead of a droop and wedge. Where the arrows are is where I was thinkin about grinding . What do ya guys think      Mark

I was advised by Tim Place NOT to do any grinding, so I just adjusted the throw longer.

  before you grind you should take a look at Dana marines web site, they sell wedges for $35. Just trying to give you some options. Good luck.

Thanks for the input guys   I was lookin for a cheap way, see my prob is that I dont have a split bowl, so a wedge would be outa the question     Mark

Rather than grinding, I adjusted the throw longer for more up travel and less down.  It's not much but should make some difference.  Here is the exchange I had in email with Tim Place;

ME:  I have a brand new Hyd. Place Diverter and noticed that it has a lot of down
throw,  Is there any adjustments that I can make to lessen the down angle
and may shift that to an up angle attitude?  It seems to me that if you
put too much down nozzle you could stand the chance of bury the nose of the
boat.

TIM:  That is an easy fix. Loosen the jam nut and rodend bearing on the end of the
shaft. Grab the nut with a 1/2 wrench and grab the rodend bearing on the
flat spot provided. By un screwing the bearing out, that will shorten the
down travel. Boats will vary with the way the intake is set so you might
have a degree or two extra of down angle. Also,(if it's a split bowl) make
sure you don't have a wedge in the wrong way.
