Looks to me by looking at the picture of the boat running, that boat is either really heavy, or has a wicked hook, I guess could also have a "soft bottom" When boats sit on a poor fitting trailer they can get a strange hook in the hull (rare).

Check or have checked the pump linkages, the bottom condition, and the wieght of the boat.

Most of the jetboat hulls had a hook molded into them to prevent porpoising due to low horsepower (higher pump velocities seem to cure this phenominon). Is that a Lavey craft?

Damn... All these guys should be politicians.  Hell, ask a simple question and it get drug out for for 5 nothing answers.  Maybe be one answered.  If they don't know why not say so, not talk about the reverse bucket, or whatever.  You are better off to just check yourself.  If there's company name on the casting, ask the maker.  Take a photo and send it to them, they will answer and not tell you they don't know in a lot of BS!!!

I know mine does the same thing, but it has nothing to do with the diverter setup. I need a new reverse cable, its coming apart. When the bucket is adjusted right, it still sticks down into the water stream about a half of an inch. You can pull it up out of the way with your hands, but i doesn't stay.

Just curious Chris... find anything out about your set-up?

Hey GQ, I have actually used a Bushwacker years ago on my old Beachcomber, it actually worked pretty well, the biggest problem is the reverse buckets geometry is not right, had to drill a second 1/4"x20 hole for the linkage attachment, wasn't too difficult and did make a small diifference.

Also just out of curiosity, did you ever check the bottom of the boat out, specifically right where the boat sits on the trailer? This type of hull has a small amount of hook built into it and it varies by manufacturer, there is not a lot that can be done in the short term, but it will answer a lot of questions.

In risk of asking the same question twice, have you had this boat weighed?, the reason for asking is our Crusader had this foam flotation crap between the hull and floor and it was totally water logged, the hull with no engine or drive system weighed over 2400#, (23' boat), to put that into perspective when finished tearing it all out it weighed under 1200#, thats like 145 gallons of water! Any ways worth looking at. Your boat should weigh in at about 2800# less trailer.
