2500 bucks is nuts for a set back.

MPD charges about 1,000 i think.

i dont see why any jet boat out there wouldn't benefit from a set back intake.

things to consider about setting yours back. with most intakes, you can machine the back of them to allow for a larger set back without breaking through the wood in the transom all the way. but, that still puts the hand hole cover right under the transom in a lot of boats depending on the angle of the transom. This means you'll need to fab a transom adapter that curves around the hand hole cover if you still want to be able to remove it.

Set it way the fuck back there Erik. After the upcoming funeral I'll ask Dave what he and the rest of his racing buddies have figured out to be the best setup for a 19' Daytona. You can't beat feedback from all the top record holders....

For what it's worth, on my 21 ,Tom(jbp) set it back just barely far enougph to get the cleanout out the back of the boat. I haven't tried to use my cleanout yet,(looks like it is still useable) he had to notch/grind the back of the cover to make it fit. BTW it was far less than 2500.00

Two of the biggest advantages of the setback are the potential to gain space in the interior and get the cleanout outside of the boat. Some boats wont like the motor moved back, but my 21 doesn't care at 85mph...
