shifter cable help
« on: April 18, 2015, 11:20:30 AM »
I recently purchased a 76 eliminator bubble deck. I'm having the pump worked over and adding a hydraulic diverter. When I got the boat the shifter cable was held in place on the tiller arm by some home made clamp on one side and a worm clamp on the other. I believe this is because the cable is a 43c series rather than the bulkhead style 43bc. Does this sound right. The only pump I've seen with the clamp style cable is the Berk je with the bottom mount cable. Is there some kind of retainer for this cable to work with a standard top down Berk/place arrangement or am I screwed?

Are you adding hydraulic to the diverter? or adding a diverter with hydraulic?

The berk steering tiller has a place for a 43bc...a 43c is used on the throttle among other things, but not the reverse gate, that I am aware of.

The place diverter arm has a place for a 43bc, too, but its not the tiller and its on the other side (RH, Vs. LH JC Berk style)

Any local boat shop should have or can get the 43bc cable in whatever length you need.

Not totally screwed, just take the reverse gate off.
